Clinic Sports Therapy was established in feburary 2018 by Nicola. Nicola graduated from Leeds Beckett University in July 2017 with a Bachelors with Honours in Sport and Exercise Therapy.
Clinic Sports Therapy aim to provide a Sports Therapy service that makes you our priority so you are able to lead a healthy, happy and injury free life. we will assure you are always at ease and take our time to listen to you and invite you to ask any question's where we will do our best to answer. at Clinic Sports Therapy we will educate you whilst we are treating you in ways you will understand which will empower you so you are able to take control of your injury.
Clinic Sports Therapy location is currently at trident fitness (previously Brain and Brawn Fitness) , Howley Park Road, Morley, Leeds, LS27 0bn. Next to Morley Asda.
Nicola graduated from Leeds Beckett University in 2017 with a BSc (Hons) Sport and Exercise Therapy, nicola began and opened clinic sports therapy in feburary 2018.
For the 16/17 season Nicola was the Sports Therapist at the male semi-professional football team Harrogate Railway AFC coming across a range of injuries in this time period. Other experience and knowledge Nicola has collected was from working with Wakefield Wildcats, Harrogate Town AFC and the English Lionesses RFL in preparation for the women’s rugby league world cup. Additional to this Nicola has worked and volunteered her Sports Therapy and Massage skills at events such as The Great North Run, The Yorkshire Marathon and The Columbia Threadneedle World Triathlon in Leeds. Nicola has also worked at football teams such as Leeds United, Newcastle United, Chesterfield FC and Durham Women FC to collect data for research.
Nicola actively keeps her skills and knowledge up to date to assure you get the best treatment by attending a range of CPD (Continual Professional Development) events and courses. Recently Nicola completed a Gluteus and Psoas Course and she has her (ATMMiF) Advanced Trauma Medical Management in Football Qualification. in December she will be completing her acupuncture for sports injuries course.
Nicola uses hands-on treatment and specialises in the assessment and treatment of Sports injuries, sports massage, trigger points, deep friction therapy and joint mobilisation. Electrotherapy, cryotherapy, thermotherapy, muscle energy techniques and proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation may also be used as a form of treatment within Nicola’s sessions. Nicola is also able to provide rehabilitation exercises in the gym and create plans to promote recovery and prevent injuries.

Becky graduated from Leeds Beckett University in 2017 with a BSc (Hons) in Sport and Exercise Therapy. She continued her studies at Leeds Beckett undertaking a part time MSc in Strength and Conditioning due to finish in September 2019.
Becky worked as the Sports Therapist at Morley Rugby Club during the 17/18 and 18/19 seasons where she experienced a range of common and more serious injuries. In May 2018 Becky started work at Super League club Leeds Rhinos. Here her role is varied, she provides soft tissue work for the first team on training and match days and assists the physiotherapists with treatment and rehabilitation. She is the head Sports Therapist of the Leeds Rhinos Women’s team, overseeing all treatment and rehabilitation programming. During the 2019 season Becky stepped up to take care of the U19 Academy for 3 months in absence of a full-time physiotherapist.
Whilst completing her undergraduate degree Becky gained experience working with Super League clubs Wakefield Wildcats and Leeds Rhinos. Championship rugby union team Yorkshire Carnegie and amateur rugby union teams Worthing Rugby Club and Leodensians.
Becky is continually striving to improve her skills as a therapist to offer the best treatments and rehabilitation, this year she has successfully complete her RFU Level 2 PHICiS trauma course. She recently attended the ProSport Academy training day on lower limb return to play and plans to complete a course in dry needling and acupuncture this year.
Becky uses a number of treatment techniques to aid rehabilitation but specialises in specific rehabilitation programmes for both at home and in the gym, taking patients right through the process from the injury occurring to the patients end goals.
Becky is a fully insured member of the Society of Sports Therapists.

What is Sports Therapy?
Sports Therapy is an aspect of healthcare that is specifically concerned with the prevention of injury and the rehabilitation of the patient back to optimum levels of functional, occupational and sports specific fitness, regardless of age and ability.
It utilises the principles of sport and exercise sciences incorporating physiological and pathological processes to prepare the participant for training, competition and where applicable, work.
What is a Sports Therapist?
A Sports Therapist is a healthcare professional who has the knowledge, skills and ability to utilise sports and exercise principles to optimise performance, preparation and injury prevention programmes. They provide the immediate care of injuries and basic life support in a recreational, training & competitive environment. A Sports Therapist will assess, treat and, where appropriate, refer on for specialist advice and intervention. They will provide appropriate sport and remedial massage in a sport & exercise context and plan and implement appropriate rehabilitation programmes.
